What to Bring Each Day

  • We are asking students to leave all personal devices at home.  District owned iPads should travel back and forth with in-person learners each day.  Classroom teachers will be providing padded envelopes to transport iPads in backpacks. District-owned Chromebooks should remain at home. We have enough Chromebooks at school for student use each day.
  • Classroom teachers may be sending home a wish list of items that could be purchased for use in the classroom.  Purchasing any supplies is optional.
  • We encourage all students to bring a full, refillable water bottle to school each day.  We will have a number of one-time use water bottles available for students as needed.

Breakfast/Lunch

  • Grab and Go breakfast bags will be available to all students when they arrive each morning.
  • Breakfast and lunch will be eaten inside the classroom and/or in the hallway area immediately outside the classroom door.

Recess

Each grade level will have a 30-minute mid-day recess (immediately before or after lunch).  Three different areas of the playground have been designated for student use - an open grassy area, the climbing structures, and the paved black top area.  To keep numbers low, two classes may be paired together as a cohort and will be assigned to one of these areas each day.  A common set of playground equipment has been purchased for each cohort to use when playing outside and will be sanitized each day.

Additional Information is located in the FAQ document found here

Memorial - Grades 4 - 6

Drop-Off and Pick-Up

  • Bus drop off will occur at the 31 West Main Street entrance, which is the new Memorial School main entrance.  Please note that this is different from last year and has been adjusted due to the anticipated number of students that will arrive at school via parent drop off.
  • Parent drop off will occur using the entrance off of Crane Crossing.  We ask that parents pull all the way up to the old bus port and wait for a staff member to greet you before letting your child out of your vehicle.  Please see the chart below for our staggered drop off schedule.  The schedule is meant to minimize traffic congestion, especially during these first few days as we are transitioning to in person learning.
  • Please look for an email from PickUp Patrol and indicate how your child is getting home.  This is where you can indicate if you will be picking up your child or if they will be taking the bus.  If you did not receive an email from Pick Up Patrol, contact Ellen Leonard eleonard@sau17.net.
  • At the end of the day, students will be dismissed to buses (located at the “horseshoe” or our West Main Street entrance).
    • Parent pick up will occur using the entrance off of Crane Crossing.
    • If you plan on picking your child up from school, again, please indicate that into PickUp Patrol.
    • Students will be located outside, by grade level.  We ask that parents do not get out of their vehicle.  Please see the chart below for our staggered pick up schedule.  The schedule is meant to minimize traffic congestion, especially during these first few days as we are transitioning to in person learning.

Middle - Grades 7 - 8

Attendance

This year at SRMS we will be tracking attendance a little differently than we historically have. This is to ensure your child’s safety in our building and to be consistent across the middle and high schools while allowing for contact tracing due to COVID.

If your child will be absent, late, dismissed early, or will miss a class period please use Pickup Patrol to report this absence as an excused absence. Any absences that have not been reported through Pickup Patrol will be marked as unexcused.

Teachers will be taking attendance at the beginning of each period. If your child misses one or more classes during the day and it has not been documented through Pickup Patrol, the absence will be marked as unexcused and an automated email will be sent home from Renee LeBlanc. If you get a message and have information or documentation as to why your child’s absence should be excused, please contact Renee LeBlanc at rleblanc@sau17.net.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up

No student will be allowed to enter the building prior to 7:10 each morning. Buses will be dropping students off after 7:10 am.

Drop Off/ Pick Up locations along with bus routes are on our website.
